Strategies on energy loss reduction from high‐temperature steam for stable hydrogen production using solid‐recovered fuel

A high-temperature steam generation system to supply a water electrolysis was designed and tested using solid-recovered fuel (SRF). The energy loss must be reduced hydrogen production stably, which are conducted by three strategies: (a) double pipe, (b) installing baffle inside the pipe obstruct flow, (c) bypassing overflowing steam. Double 25% compared single pipe. Consequently, heat source with temperature of 973 K or higher obtained. In addition, CFD simulation performed over range 373 investigate change in external fluid. When baffles were installed it dissipation approximately 6%. Therefore, four inner tube proved most effective method, confirmed that fluid should maintained above 573 K. It concluded can produce 43.8 ton/year when generating steam, CO2 emission is 1.1 ton-CO2/ton-hydrogen liquefied natural gas.
